Time for the declaration of our 2016 goals! This post is a throwing of a gauntlet for us. We’ve finally settled on what areas of life we want to focus on this year, and we’re putting it out there in the hopes that it will help us stay the course the next 12 months.
This year, I fell back on an old system of mine to narrow down my ideas and help identify specific areas for work. I thought through my life in quarters: mind, body, heart, and soul. I developed goals under each of these, some as an individual and some as a couple with Tyler. Here they are… and I’m sure you’ll hear some about them throughout the year as well!
take an online class, monthly photo projects, master the new lens
blog consistently, explore new writing styles, get comfortable in a particular writing style
EXPLORE VLOGGING FURTHER
try to improve our videos and see if it’s something we want to invest in more
READ TWO BOOKS A MONTH
one nonfiction and one fiction
WORK OUT TWICE A WEEK
yoga, running, core workouts
KEEP IN TOUCH WITH FRIENDS
write letters/postcards/emails to a few close friends on a regular basis.. maybe once a month?

develop a plan, create a website, get at least one paying client this year
START RUNNING AGAIN
no particular monthly/weekly goal, but get into a habit of running again
TRY AS MANY DISHES IN **** AS POSSIBLE! (SPOILER: WE’RE MOVING SOMEWHERE NEW AND UNEXPECTED– RETURN THURSDAY TO FIND OUT WHERE!)
try all the food in sight and learn to cook some of our favorites
EXPLORE OUR SPIRITUAL BELIEFS
developing discipline in our personal spiritual practices, reading books about subjects that interest or confuse us, finding an online podcast that can partially fill the “church body” void that exists in our travel life
KEEP IN TOUCH WITH PARENTS/FAMILY
this will always be on the list, we hope to Facetime once a week
JOURNAL ONCE A WEEK
